After months of anticipation, we are proud to announce the launch of the new Objet blog.
My name is Sam Green and I’m part of the marketing team here at Objet Geometries. I will be bringing you the latest developments and happenings from the world of 3D printing, rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing.
And in case you’re new to it all, let’s just start by stating the obvious. 3D printing is a truly remarkable technology holding tremendous promise. It will change the way we think, work and even how whole economies function. And the great thing is that it’s here, right now.
The additive manufacturing market (a general term meant to incorporate both rapid prototyping and 3D printing) as a whole has been in existence for over 22 years, and for much of that time it has been growing in the double digit range year over year.
We have now reached critical mass – the point where the knowledge and use of 3D printing is beginning to spill over from its niche position in large enterprises into the mainstream market.
In our upcoming posts we’ll be illuminating what’s really driving this mainstream growth. Every week in this space you will find new stories from real customers, new and novel uses for 3D printers, and some fantastic examples from every field from architecture to animation, modern art to medical devices, and from every scale from the toy industry to the aerospace industry.
In the meantime a YouTube clip is worth a thousand words, so take a 5 minute break; make a cup of your favorite drink and settle down to see how Amit Zoran was able to print a fully-functional flute using the Objet Connex multi-material 3D printer.
