Objet to Demonstrate Unique Multi-Material 3D Printing Applications at Rapid!

Visit Objet at Rapid ~ Booth 104 ~ May 23rd to May 26th

Today is the start of Rapid – America’s definitive additive manufacturing event covering everything from inkjet-based 3D printing to stereolithography, fused deposition modeling, laser sintering and more.

Here is a nice presentation that describes the main features and benefits of each of these additive manufacturing techniques.  (Objet comes under the heading of ‘3-D printing’ in this short presentation. Notice how it’s described as the only technology able to “produce parts made of several materials with different mechanical and physical properties in a single build process”.)

At this year’s show Objet will be showcasing its uniquely versatile Objet Connex multi-material 3D printers – the only technology able to use up to 14 different materials in a single model or part!

The Objet Connex can print parts, models and prototypes using a range of 65 materials (yes – that’s 65!) enabling the accurate simulation of a wide range of properties from rubber to PMMA-glass to rigid ABS-grade engineering plastics.

Objet’s multi-material build capability is not just a pretty gadget – it’s incredibly useful to a wide range of industries. Dr North of the miraclefeet project will be at the show describing how the Objet Connex multi-material 3D printer has enabled his project to prototype unique leg braces for children using the machine’s simultaneous rigid/flexible build capability  – producing a faster turnaround of braces from design to production and at a lower cost. I’ve written more about Dr North’s amazing story here.

Here are some other incredible applications that can be achieved using the Objet Connex multi-material 3D printer:

Objet’s entire product portfolio will be represented at the booth (#104), including the Objet Connex350 multi-material 3D printer, Objet Eden260V professional 3D printer and Objet24 desktop 3D printer. Also on display will be a range of Objet printed models and parts from various industries ranging from consumer goods and electronics to medical devices and the automotive sector.

Don’t miss it! Rapid is being held from May 23rd to May 26th inclusive.
