SIGGRAPH is the digital entertainment industry’s most exciting tradeshow of the year. Held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California on August 7-9, Objet will be exhibiting and presenting throughout the week.
Jason Lopes, Senior Technician with Legacy Effects Studio, will be giving a short presentation on Wednesday, August 8th at 10:00am in room 301B. The presentation will show how 3D printing has benefited Hollywood – with particular emphasis on the creation of special effects.
Jason is an expert presenter and an industry leader in rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing, so if you have a chance, make sure to attend!

In the meantime I leave you with some of his latest Objet 3D printed creations. These are 3D printed models created on Legacy Effect’s own Objet system, with post-painting. If you don’t recognize them (!) these were created for the 2012 blockbuster films The Avengers and the fantasy adventure, John Carter:
