As the dental market becomes more competitive, dental professionals are seeking new technologies to meet their business needs and increase profitability. For those eager to do almost everything on a 3D printer, the new Objet Eden260VS Dental Advantage 3D Printer is here in the nick of time.

Launched today, the Objet Eden260VS Dental Advantage offers new capabilities to mid-to-large sized dental and orthodontic labs including compatibility with all Stratasys dental materials and a soluble support option to lower cost per 3D printed part.
We interviewed Stratasys Director of Global Dental, Avi Cohen about how the Objet Eden260VS Dental Advantage can improve dental labs business challenges.
Galit: What benefits does the new Objet Eden260VS Dental Advantage bring to dental and orthodontic labs in terms of improving the way they work?
Avi: Most forward-thinking dental labs and dental production centres wish to discover new ways to stay ahead of the competition. The transition from traditional milling technologies to 3D printing enables more applications, reducing the holdup of manual modelling and enabling the business to grow. The new Objet Eden260VS Dental Advantage 3D Printer is designed to further improve productivity, giving lab owners the power to control the entire dental process – from initial design to the final manufacture of dental parts, all under one roof. And it is our most versatile 3D printing solution for the dental sector to date.
Take outsourcing digital dental files as an example. This can be a very time consuming and frustrating process, both for the dental lab and their clients. In fact, the majority of dental clinics prefer to do all of their lab work within a single laboratory.  With the Objet Eden260VS Dental Advantage, labs can save both time and money with accurate digital files, produced in-house.
Avi Cohen, Director of Global Dental, Stratasys, illustrates the productivity advantages of the Objet Eden260VS Dental Advantage including a soluble support mode that provides lower cost per part.

Galit: What impact will this have on the cost of running labs?

Avi: As the dental market becomes more competitive, the needs change too. Desires like fast production times, lower costs, quality and additional dental solutions become more prevalent.  The Objet Eden260VS Dental Advantage offers lower cost per part through automated support removal. Lab owners can switch between soluble and water jet modes to balance low-cost automation with the occasional need for quick, hands-on support removal. It also provides the ability to 3D print and easily clean small dental models with very fine features and small elements.
Galit: What materials does this technology support?
Avi: Stratasys offers four materials for digital dentistry and orthodontics: MED610 Clear-Bio and VeroGlaze – both of them bio-compatible materials, as well as VeroDent and VeroDentPlus. The unique replacement system of the Objet Eden260VS Dental Advantage makes it easy to switch between materials – just insert the new container and select it using the software wizard.
Our dental materials are rigid, opaque materials with a natural-looking peach or clear color designed especially for dental and orthodontic applications including stone models and surgical guides. What’s more, these materials combine accurate detail visualization with high dimensional stability. They are used by the Objet EdenV and OrthoDesk line of 3D Printers which print ultrafine 16 micron layers for exceptional detail and surface finish.
Galit: What advantages does VeroGlaze dental 3D printing material offer?
The Objet Eden260VS Dental Advantage 3D Printer supports a wide range of dental applications including natural peach-tone models with high quality detail, fine details, strength and durability.

Avi:  Appearance and accuracy are everything in our business and we’re delighted with the details and resolution of the models being produced on our Objet Eden260V Dental Advantage 3D Printer with the new VeroGlaze material. VeroGlaze expands Stratasys’ growing family of materials for digital dentistry. This dental material is ideal for applications requiring short-term, mucosal-membrane contact of up to 24 hours, enabling dental labs to use VeroGlaze to create veneer try-ins in precise A2 teeth color shade.
