Where is 3D printing headed and why?
That is the opening question to be addressed in an hour-long panel discussion hosted by Stratasys at the 2017 AMUG Conference. For the balance of the hour, I will be leading industry thought leaders through questions that cover advancements, opportunities, and challenges; all asked with the intent of offering insight and guidance to help companies map out their 3D printing strategies and near-term plans.
This will be the third year that I have moderated the Stratasys panel discussion at AMUG. When asked to do it once again, I enthusiastically accepted the invitation. It is hard to pass up an opportunity that in previous years had standing room only to hear honest assessments of where we are and where we are going.
My panelists represent the manufacturing, PLM, and 3D printing industries as well as academia. They are:
- David Dreyer, Solution Principal, Digital Manufacturing Center of Excellence at SAP
- Aaron Frankel, Senior Director of Marketing at Siemens PLM Software
- Phil Reeves, VP of Consulting at Stratasys
- Tim Gornet, Manager, Rapid Prototyping Center at University of Louisville
I can’t wait to hear their thoughts. It will be interesting.
And if I do my job well as moderator, we will have a lively discussion that draws out any difference of opinion. Considering the depth of experience the panelist bring, I may have to rein them in a bit because we want to give the audience plenty of time to ask questions.
If you are attending the AMUG Conference in Chicago, make sure to join us at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, March 21. If not, be on the lookout for a post-event video that will give you access to the conversation.
